The pre-theology concentration has been designed for students of all majors as an opportunity to explore the concept of the Christian vocation in a group setting. Led by UIndy’s chaplain in the Ecumenical and Interfaith Office, the pre-theology concentration consists of a series of Christian vocation classes that offer students a chance to dig deep into the Christian tradition and explore their calling in the context of their faith.
With the completion of four Christian vocation courses, you’ll complement your studies in prayer, worship, service and stewardship with a real-world internship opportunity.
The pre-theology concentration might be for you if:
- You are called to Christian service in the church, whether as an ordained minister or a layperson
- You want to explore your calling to serve others in the world
Majors well supplemented by this concentration are:
- Medical fields (nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, life sciences)
The religion curriculum guide outlines the different classes you will need to take for a pre-theology concentration. You’ll want to review this guide to get a complete picture of how this concentration might fit in with your desired major.
